Get Back to Blogging & Jump-Start Your Blog: Day 2--Re-Upload A Post You Wish More People Had Read

I have decided that I need to put some "fire" in my blogging.  So for the next 5 days I am participating in the SITS Get Back to Blogging & Jump-Start Your Blog event.  Each day will be a different topic.  I welcome your comments and really look forward to them!  (Comments are the highlight of my day!)

I want to thank the sponsors at Standards of Excellence, Westar, and Florida Builder Appliances who are helping the SITS'ers make Back to Blogging event even better.

Also, if you are not familiar with SITS, check them out!  It is a wonderful group of women bloggers!  I have met some of the most amazing women bloggers who inspire me every day!  The best part--they love commenting!!  Come and join the SITS'erhood....

Day 2: Re-upload a post you wish more people had read and explain why it was important to you.

February 2010
Tonight we went to church as normal but after our regular supper we took part in the beginning of the Lenten Season.  This is the forty days before the death and resurection of Jesus Chirst.  It's a great time to look back and reflect on how we are living our lives.

Do we need to think more of others than ourselves?  Do we spend more time on the computer or in front of the TV than with our families?  Are we the good stewards of the Earth that God wants us to be?

Many of us use Lent as a time to give up something like chocolate, sweets, sugar, Facebook, coffee, soft drinks.  But I think we have lost the meaning of why this was started.  When we make the decision to fast during lent, we also need to take the time to redirect our lives.  We need to redirect our lives in the direction that we need to go to be closer to God.

Are we the person God put us on the Earth to be?  Are we heading to the purpose that God needs us for?  Are we being good stewards to the world God put us in?  Are we being the examples God needs us to be?

Lent is not just the time to give up but the time to reflect up.  Reflect on our family, our lives and our walk with our God.  I challenge you to make this Lenten season a time for you to reflect and redirect your life into the life that is meanigful for you and those you come in contact with everyday!  Happy Lent!

September 14, 2010

This post is on a topic I don't write too much about.  I feel that each of us have our own feelings about religion.  It is my personal opinion that each of us worship our God in our own way.  I will share my views with you when you ask, but I don't like to force them on anyone.

I wrote this post as a way to prepare myself for the solum lent season.  I wanted to share the questions that were on my heart on what lent means to me and what it should cause us to be.

This was a post of inter relection that I wanted to reshare with my readers.  With all the religious controversy lately, I thought reposting this might help us all reflect on our own personal views.

  1. What a great idea! Thanks for sharing that post:)

  2. Great post! This is definitely something I need to sit down and pray about. Stopping by from SITS to say hello! Happy Tuesday!

  3. First of all, what a fun idea!! I need to get back into gear with my poor blog. I love blogging, but life can get in the way.

I enjoy reading about people's faith... even if it is different from my own. My faith is who I am and I love to see just who everyone else is as well!

  4. This was a beautiful post and I agree with you even though every faith has it's differences taking the time for inner reflection is an important thing to do and if Lent is the way that helps you do that, that is awesome! I look forward to reading your post for tomorrow!

  5. BEAUTIFUL. I am not particularly religious (that means we sort of go to church sometimes). In today's world, the true purpose of so many things is lost, diluted, tweaked to fit one's personal agenda. What a great reminder about what this time of the year is and a little reminder that we have the power to redirect our lives.
