2013 CSA

K and H Farms
Fall 2012

For the past 2 years on K and H Farms, we have been growing pastured poultry.  Our chickens are grown in bottomless pens in our pastures, scratching, eating bugs and grass while enjoying the fresh air and sunshine!  You will find our chickens to be much healthier and happier than the average chicken.

They are fed grains and minerals but get between 20 to 30% of the nourishment from the pasture they live on.  Each day they are moved to new pasture.  Their flavor is richer and more vibrant than those bought in the grocery store...our chickens actually have a flavor!  These are the chickens that we proudly put on our own dinner table!

Starting the Spring of 2013, K and H Farms is going to offer Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) to our friends, family and community!  This allows you to own a “share” of our chickens.  Each CSA will last for 3 months.  You will come to our farm once a month and pick up your chicken.  You pay upfront (or by payments) a set price for your “share” of chickens each month.  These will be whole chickens that you can freeze until you are ready to feed the family or just yourself!  We do not cut up the chicken but will gladly show you how to when you pick up your order.

There will be 3 CSA pick-ups for 2013...
Spring CSA March 30th, April 27th, May 25th Order by:  Dec 21, 2012
Summer CSA June 15th, July 13th, August 17th Order by:  Mar 1, 2013
Fall CSA September 7th, October 12th, November 16th Order by:  May 31, 2013

Knowing who raises your food empowers you to have control for healthier food choices for you and your family while strengthening your local economy!  Know your farmer, Know your food!  We welcome all our CSA members to come any time to help move pens, move chickens, or process chickens.  We have an open door policy because we consider YOU apart of our farm!!  We look forward to getting to know you and your family...

**Due to state regulations, please remember that you are buying a LIVE chicken!  If you would like us to process it along with the chickens that we process for ourselves, just let us know and we WILL process them for FREE for you!
